Village of Cobb- Emergency Special Meeting
October 28, 2009
President Robert Roelli called an emergency special meeting of the Village of Cobb to order at 7:00 p.m., at the Village Hall, 501 Benson Street, in the Village of Cobb. Roll call. Quorum present. Board members present were Richard Campbell, Russ Zingg, Laurie Trevorrow, Arnold Fritsch, and John Wienkes. Donald Ritchie arrived at 7:01 p.m. Also in attendance was Mark Flanagan. Motion by Zingg, second by Trevorrow to approve posting and compliance with the open meeting law to hold an emergency meeting. Voice vote, all in favor. Motion carried.
The Emergency Special Meeting was called to consider the purchase of a refurbished snow plow truck that had been looked at and a purchasing decision needed to be made immediately. Zingg talked with the owner and got the truck price back to the original price tag of $36,400. The truck will have new tires on the back and used tires on the front with 70% tread. The guarantee will include no oil leaks, etc. upon receipt of truck. The amount of $31,400 would need to be wired the next morning with the remaining $5,000 upon satisfaction with receipt of the truck. The Clerk contacted the Village Attorney regarding financing and was informed that monies could not be borrowed to reimburse monies paid out without having a resolution already in place. There is not enough Following much discussion, a motion was made by Zingg, and second by Fritsch to not purchase the refurbished snow plow truck from DeForest Truck and take our current orange plow truck to Y Z Truck Service for a second bid estimate with the option to go ahead with repairs with Hallada or Y Z Truck Service, whoever has the best bid estimate and can repair the truck the soonest. Roll call vote, 7-0. Motion carried.
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Trevorrow to adjourn. Voice vote. Motion carried. The emergency special meeting of the Village of Cobb adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
