 KELLOGG’S AND KEEBLER PRODUCTS

·       Bring them to the Library and place in designated container

·       Library will order movies from the list supplied

·       Then check them out at the library and Enjoy

     Looking for ways to cut your energy costs?  Learn about energy-saving projects that can save you money for years to come on Alliant Energy’s “PowerHouse” TV program-now available for check out on DVD at the Cobb Public Library.  The DVD’s were donated by Alliant Energy.  Each episode focuses on a variety of energy-efficiency topics, like installing storm doors, choosing new appliances, and choosing a ceiling fan and more. 

     The Cobb Library also has an Electricity Usage Meter available for check out.  The meter allows you to plug in an appliance, and the meter will tell you how efficient that appliance is.  It can help you determine which appliances are costing you the most.  Stop down at the library to check out either item.

8.                  Old Business

A.      Grant Request & Progress – We received a $ 600.00 grant from United Fund of Iowa County

B.     Suggestion Box – No suggestions were placed in the suggestion box 

C.     Book delivery to homebound in Cobb – plenty of volunteers, but no one has requested the delivery yet.

D.     Computer Use Policy – Tabled till next month

E.      2009 Annual Report – our library visits were up in 2009 to 5,966 compared to 5,567 in 2008.  Circulation was also up from 10,000 in 2008 to 11,099 in 2009.  Computer usage 882, up from 635 in 2008. Attendance in teen programs up from 2008, but attendance in Children’s story time was down in 2009.

F.      Trustee Workshop – There will be a mini workshop in Dodgeville on May 6th from 6-7:00 pm on Library Bylaws

 

New Business

A.       Village Representative Report, no report. The village will be appointing a new representative at their next meeting

B.        Krista Ross from SWLS came to the meeting to speak to us about how the SWLS works, and gave us an understanding of how the county funding is formulated.

C.        Fiber Grant – Tabled till next meeting

D.       Review of Terms, everyone present has agreed to stay on the board until next year.

E.        Election of Vice President – tabled till next meeting

F.         Library Book Sale – going to do a book sale during Village Wide garage sale.

G.       United Fund grant money – tabled till next meeting

H.       Landscaping in front of the library. Sherry was going to contact Laurie Trevorrow to see what Saturday would work for her to help out with the landscaping and then will e-mail the board.
