·       Save Movie Lovers Collection Tokens from specially marked

 KELLOGG’S AND KEEBLER PRODUCTS

·       Bring them to the Library and place in designated container

·       Library will order movies from the list supplied

·       Then check them out at the library and Enjoy

     Looking for ways to cut your energy costs?  Learn about energy-saving projects that can save you money for years to come on Alliant Energy’s “PowerHouse” TV program-now available for check out on DVD at the Cobb Public Library.  The DVD’s were donated by Alliant Energy.  Each episode focuses on a variety of energy-efficiency topics, like installing storm doors, choosing new appliances, and choosing a ceiling fan and more. 

     The Cobb Library also has an Electricity Usage Meter available for check out.  The meter allows you to plug in an appliance, and the meter will tell you how efficient that appliance is.  It can help you determine which appliances are costing you the most.  Stop down at the library to check out either item.

Cobb Public Library Board Meeting Minutes

January 19, 2010    6:00 p.m.

Meeting held at Cobb Library

 

1.        Meeting was called to order by President Paul Korb at 6:02 p.m.

Present:  Director Sherry Nagel; President Paul Korb;  Vice President/Village Rep. Laurie Trevorrow; Secretary Linda Tucker;  Treasurer Lori Breiwa; Trustee Carolyn Laufenberg  and Trustee LaNell Wagner

Absent:  Trustee Linda Gard 

2.       Motion by Linda Tucker and seconded by Lori Breiwa that proper notice was given.  The notices were posted at Cobb Post Office, Cobb Village Office and Cobb Public Library.

3.       Motion by Laurie Trevorrow and seconded by LaNell Wagner to adopt the agenda .

4.        Motion by Lori Briewa and seconded by LaNell Wagner to approve the minutes.

5.       Treasurer’s Report – Checking $59.39; Reg. Svgs. $660.29; Bldg. Fund $2,537.03.  Motion by LaNell Wagner and seconded by Carolyn Laufenberg to approve. 

6.       A motion by Linda Tucker and seconded by Laurie Trevorrow to pay the bills as presented.

7.       Old Business

A.       Grant requests and progress –Sherry has the Wal-Mart grant form and will submit it.  Also, the United Fund of Iowa County request has been submitted.

B.      Suggestion box – Request for more teen CD’s. 

C.      Book delivery to those homebound in Cobb – No requests yet.   Notice was in Peace Church bulletin; not yet in Methodist newsletter.   Will check to see when it will be in the Dodgeville Chronicle gray space.  We need to make a poster to post in the Post Office and submit info to the Commission in Aging newsletter, etc. 

D.      Book club for grades 3rd-5th graders – The first meeting was held on December 29 at 4:30 p.m.  Two students attended.  They are reading a book and will have another meeting next week.  Encouraging more students to attend.

E.       Polar Express Pajama Party – 10 to 12 were in attendance.  They had an enjoyable time.

8.       New Business

A.      Village Representative Report – Nothing new to report.

B.      Computer Use policy review – Sherry will give us copies of the report to review and bring back for discussion at our next meeting.  Sherry will clarify some issues with our Village Attorney (i.e., laptop use:  legal age 16 or 18? And how much do we police laptops in the library?)

C.      Library Legislative Day 02/16/10 – Purpose is to meet with legislators to lobby for our libraries.  Let Sherry know if you want to attend.

D.      SWLS news – Meeting was held on 12/4/09.  Sherry was notified that there will be another reduction in the contract amount as they voted to eliminate support with Applied Micro for the library router.  It will now be our responsibility to pay Applied Micro if something goes wrong.   This reduced the System contract by $2,621 and our portion by $102. 

9.       Motion to adjourn at 6:50 p.m. by Linda Tucker and seconded by Carolyn Laufenberg.
